This notice covers visits to the website and availability enquiries sent through the form. We do not take bookings or payments online.
Data controller
The controller is Giuseppe Recchia, proprietor of Masseria Battaglini B&B familiare. For questions about the processing of your data or to exercise your rights, write to the email address below.
Data, purposes and legal basis
The form collects your name and email address, which we need to reply, and, if provided, your phone number, preferred accommodation, dates, number of adults and children, and message. We use these data only to handle your enquiry and arrange a possible stay: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual steps taken at your request). Without your name and email address, we cannot reply. We do not use form data for newsletters or profiling. Please do not include health data or other particularly sensitive information in your message.
Technical data and security
When you visit the site, technical providers may process your IP address, date, time, requested page and device data needed to deliver pages and protect them from abuse. Cloudflare Turnstile provides the form's anti-spam check. To limit repeated submissions, the form retains a pseudonymous identifier derived from the IP address, without the enquiry text. Entries expire after 50 minutes and are deleted by scheduled cleanup every 10 minutes when the service is operating normally. If cleanup stops, the form blocks new submissions; we restore the service promptly to delete the data already stored. The legal basis for site security and abuse prevention is the controller's legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The site does not include traffic analytics or behavioural advertising tools. Turnstile processes technical signals such as IP address, TLS connection characteristics, browser and page origin. Cloudflare acts as a data processor to protect this website and as an independent data controller when it uses these signals to improve bot detection; for this second processing purpose, it states that it relies on its own legitimate interests. The form content is not sent to Cloudflare. To recognise attempts to submit the same enquiry, we also retain a random enquiry identifier, without its content, for up to 24 hours and 10 minutes when scheduled cleanup is operating normally.
Cookies and technical tools
We do not use cookies for analytics, advertising or profiling. The site's technical services and anti-spam check may use data or cookies necessary for operation and security. Links to social networks and WhatsApp do not load their content until you choose to open them. Before adding non-essential tools, we will update this notice and request consent where required.
Service providers and recipients
We use Aruba for hosting, delivery of form emails and mailboxes, and Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the form. Any previews on GitHub Pages and the temporary Aruba address are not intended to collect guest enquiries. Graphics libraries are hosted with the site and are not loaded from external CDN networks. Authorised Masseria staff access enquiries in the mailbox. The enquiry content is not sent to Cloudflare or GitHub. We do not pass data to booking platforms.
Optional WhatsApp contact
After the email is confirmed, you may open a WhatsApp message prepared with your name, accommodation, dates and number of guests. It is not sent automatically: you decide whether to send it. Opening the link uses WhatsApp, whose operator processes data under its own terms.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Cloudflare and, during the preview, GitHub may process technical data outside the European Economic Area, especially in the United States. The enquiry content is delivered through Aruba and is not sent to these services. Any Cloudflare transfers are governed by its data processing agreement and standard contractual clauses or applicable adequacy decisions. Contact us for information about the safeguards or to obtain a copy.
Retention
Enquiries that do not become bookings and the related emails are deleted within 12 months of the last communication, with periodic mailbox checks, unless a specific dispute requires longer retention. If the enquiry becomes a booking, data needed for the stay and administrative obligations will be handled and kept under applicable law, with further information provided at confirmation.
Your rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and, where applicable, portability; you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can write to us at the address below and lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority. We do not make automated decisions with legal effects on your enquiries.
